Résumé
This document presents a quantitative study on the relationships between images and text observed on the production between 1925 and 1935 of the illustrated literary edition in France. This document consists in a complementary file to a doctorate thesis (available on line on theses.fr) dealing with the illustration between the world wars studied with a socio-aesthetic approach. The relationships between illustrations and text are analyzed in this research using a typology in four categories. Maps showing the use of these different categories over the structure of the field of illustration are provided. The homogeneity within each zone of these spatial distributions is discussed. The works of a number of artists-illustrators are quoted as examples.
Ce document de travail présente une étude quantitative ayant trait aux rapports images/texte observés sur les productions entre 1925 et 1935 de l'édition littéraire illustrée française. Il s'agit d'un travail complémentaire d'une thèse (publiée sur theses.fr) portant sur l'illustration de l'entre-deux-guerres appréhendée avec une approche socio-esthétique. Les rapports images/texte sont analysés dans cette recherche selon une typologie en quatre catégories. Des cartographies montrant l'usage de ces divers types de rapports au sein de la structure du champ de l'illustration sont présentées. L'homogénéité sur chaque zone de ces répartitions spatiales fait l'objet de commentaires. Les travaux de nombreux artistes sont cités comme exemples.
